The surprise Wheel of Time pilot from Sunday made us wonder why nobody had made a television show or video game about this series yet...and that's when we learned the sad story of a great franchise stuck in purgatory.
We are remembering the best games to come out of the mind of writer/programmer/designer Tim Schafer. Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts...man, how much creativity does one guy get to have?
Finally finishing Grim Fandango got us thinking about other games that we never completed, such as the laserdisk arcade game Cliff Hanger, which may oddly be the only video game based on a work of Hayao Miyazaki.
Is cheating ALWAYS wrong? We hate to take the easy way out (it always leaves us feeling somewhat...deflated), but we can think of five times in games when cheating seemed entirely justified.
Destiny has a lot of flaws (e.g., repetitive missions, chunky exposition, dorky dancing) but we can't put it down. We think we've cracked Destiny's secret.
We were excited to see the third installment of this series but ultimately we felt a bit disappointed (but no, it's not Dark Knight Rises all over again).
Gameplay variety is great, but we're getting a little tired of being required to hunt defenseless woodland creatures instead of templars and Pagan Min. Seriously, who wants an ammunition bag made out of rabbit skin anyway?
